Breast Augmentation with Fat
Breast lipofilling (lipomodeling or autograft of adipose tissue) is a surgical technique that transfers a woman’s excess fat (thighs, buttocks) to her breasts to increase their volume and modify their shape. At the same time, this makes it possible to remodel their silhouette.
Breast augmentation with fat can be done in Phnom Penh at the cosmetic surgery clinic of LaClinique in BKKI.
Most patients undergo this procedure under general anesthesia. The duration of the procedure can vary according to the amount of fat injected (from 1h30 to 22h30). Local anesthesia is only possible for small alterations.
A mammography is required preoperatively and one year after the procedure. The mammogram can also be done at our BKKI surgery clinic. Regular monitoring is necessary for two years.
Fat is harvested with the aid of a cannula inserted through small incisions. Centrifugation purifies the fat. The fat is then uniformly spread in the breast with cannulas.
Pain at the donor site is moderate and a compress dressing can be useful for two weeks.
For the breasts, a significant edema will appear for the first two weeks and then be resorbed after one or two months. Bruises will disappear after approximately two weeks. The breasts will progressively lose 20%-30% of the volume but will stabilize after three to four months. A second session is sometimes necessary depending on the desired volume. It will be performed six to eight months later.
This surgical technique which is safe, durable and scientifically validated is currently applied in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery of the breast.
